Marble Hornets w/ Panic World — Wednesday, Oct 22, 7:00PM
In 2009, friends Joseph DeLage, Troy Wagner, and Tim Sutton pooled together $500 to create a web series to elaborate on the mythology of Slenderman, a cryptic character that had appeared on the Something Awful forums mere weeks prior. Marble Hornets became immensely popular and would go on to extend to three seasons and spawn several spin-off feature films, inaugurating a new era in grassroots horror.
Low Cinema is proud to welcome Ryan Broderick and Grant Irving of Panic World — a podcast about how the internet warps our minds, our culture, and eventually reality — for a screening of selections from Marble Hornets and a post-screening discussion about its significance for online culture. The discussion will be recorded and released as a live-audience episode on Panic World’s channels.
Total estimated runtime incl. post-screening talk: 135 mins.
All sales are final; no refunds or exchanges. Five minutes after the listed showtime, any unused tickets will be considered no-shows and released to standby customers.
