Join Skye Williams as she presents a tale of two Princesses, a fish-out of water story and a happy ending that involves getting a restaurant at the end!

Nope, we’re not talking about Disney. 

B.A.P.S, which stands for Black American PrincesseS, is a 1997 Film Directed by Robert Townsend, about two young women who travel from Georgia to Los Angeles to chase their dreams, but find it's not quite as easy as they’d imagined. Martin Landau also stars in the film that shows there are a lot of different definitions to being a princess. 

There will also be a brief discussion ahead of the 2/25 showing about the film's lasting cultural relevance and the impact of the wardrobe and costume work of Ruth E. Carter.
